Junior Achievement

It is certainly a treat to spend a couple of days volunteering for Junior Acheivement. JA is an international company focusing on training our youth on how to enter the real world. That is not the way they (JA) might say it but the way I see it. This morning I had the chance to speak to a group of 8th graders at Emerado school in Winkler about the Economics of staying in school. We got as far as some preliminary budgeting for their lives after high school. On Wednesday we will speak about incomes, taxes, credit and credit cards, trades, colleges and university’s etc. I know I would have really enjoyed gettin this course as a student in junior high so I hope these young people will also appreciate it; if not this week then when they look back at it over the next couple of years.
