2010 Southland Honda MJHL All-Star Challenge

For the third time in 8 years, the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League are hosting the annual all-star game.  Also for the third time, Southland Honda is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the event.  The top players from the entire league will descend upon Winkler to square off in a Addison division vs. Sherwood division contest.   We at the dealership have been proud to support amateur hockey over the years and this is a provincial event that brings great value to the southern Manitoba community and superb entertainment for the local hockey fans.  More information on the event will soon be up on the www.winklerflyers.com website.

On Thursday, February 19/2009, Southland Honda hosted the PeeWee Playoff Shoot for the Cure event in our temporary showroom in the Southland Mall. Several local minor hockey teams were invited to come out and do some target shooting at a hockey net guarded by a shooter tuitor.

A big screen TV, supplied by Solutions, showing some Rock 'Em Sock 'Em hockey was a big hit with those in attendance.

A total of $75 was raised by the event. The money was given to the South Central Cancer Resource center.

The winner of the shoot for the cure event was Taylor Drobot of Morden, seen here accepting his prize of a DVD player from Sales Manager Scott Cockbill.

Southland Honda would like to thank everyone who participated to make the first Shoot for the Cure a lot of fun!

Southland Honda is proud to support amateur hockey in the Pembina Valley. Our service manager Shane Froebe is the President of Winkler Minor hockey and is also referee in chief. He spends countless hours volunteering in Winkler Minor Hockey. Greg Ens, the dealer principal, is President of the Winkler Flyers junior hockey club and also serves on the Pembina Valley minor Hockey Exec as the atom convener. Honda Canada has recently announced a formal partnership with the NHL. Oh yeah, Chuck still cheers for the Habs.
